Dynamic office design points Compass staff in new direction

Revo Group has designed and equipped Compass’ new offices at Parkview, Uxbridge, to create a dynamic work environment that makes the best use of the available space.

Having previously worked on Compass’ Group HQ in Chertsey, Revo was commissioned to extend its innovative design and fitting-out approach in the new building. Revo has previously created a flagship Innovation Centre for Compass in Surrey that showcases its extensive range of brands.

The new offices at Parkview comprise around 20,000 feet of office space across two floors that feature not only work areas and meeting rooms but also a restaurant and commercial kitchen.

“Our challenge was to move around 180 employees from their current location to a smaller sized office while ensuring a sense of space and creating a productive working environment,” said Philip Basford, Managing Director of Revo. “The office design had to be right to suit Compass’ long-term usage requirements.”

Revo carefully analysed day-to-day business patterns, especially how different groups of employees and departments work and interact together. “It was important to maintain a dynamic flow of people around the desk and meeting areas to encourage dialogue and collaboration,” said Philip.

The fit-out took into account the Compass corporate culture while at the same time creating a distinct look for different business areas. To accomplish this, Revo added artistic touches by introducing large-scale graphic images on storage wall units, for example, scenes of tennis at Wimbledon for Compass’ sports and leisure division.

The project was completed to a pre-agreed time schedule. “We finished the project from initial design to handover in a 12-week turnaround to minimise disruption for Compass employees,” said Philip.

A touch of class …..

A touch of class from Revo Group for high-end residential clients

Extending and refurbishing luxury properties in exclusive locations is a successful business for Revo Group, as word-of-mouth recommendations ensure that the company is the go-to provider for discerning clients at the top end of the residential market.

Revo’s Residential Division works with a select group of leading designers and architects on prestige multi-million pound projects, mainly in London’s exclusive residential addresses.

Philip Basford, Managing Director of Revo, said: “The high-end residential market is very buoyant, especially for major redesigns and refurbishments where new property owners’ tastes and requirements need to be respected and exacting standards adhered to. We are experiencing strong demand as a result of the quality of our work and our dedication to meeting the highest levels of professionalism.”

Many recommendations come from designers and architects impressed with Revo’s outstanding reputation in the hotel and restaurant sector, where major projects include work for renowned chefs, Michel Roux Jr and Gary Rhodes.

“We ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget; even when working on a luxury scale using the finest materials which demands the closest attention to detail,” said Philip.

To meet the unique requirements of its high-end residential clients, Revo sources materials from around the world; these have included Japanese fabrics for walls, Italian tiles, bespoke lighting and flooring and steam rooms for swimming pool areas.

Close collaboration with clients ensures Revo knows when to be flexible to change and adapt plans to suit individual requirements. “Strong and decisive project management disciplines are essential,” said Philip.

As well as working with designers, Revo has its own experienced in-house design team so it is able to offer clients a complete service from start to finish.

Ambassador’s office transformed ….

Ambassador’s office transformed in Polish Embassy showpiece

A challenging project in the Grade II listed Polish Embassy in London so impressed the ambassador that the refurbished rooms are now used regularly to host guests and hold press events.

The refurbishment centred on the Ambassador’s prestige office and adjacent rooms, The representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, said: “We were very impressed by Revo’s professional approach which gave us complete confidence in their ability to complete this complex refurbishment.”

She added: “Other companies were reluctant to take on the more difficult aspects, such as furniture upholstering and refurbishing rooms in a listed building.”

Revo discussed the client’s design requirements and offered ideas that would complement the grand-surroundings. It was important in such a busy environment to run a well managed project. “We only had to deal with Revo, who acted on our behalf and in our interests, rather than with each of the individual contractors used to do the work,” said the client.

First, all the antique furniture, paintings and sculptures were carefully removed and stored while the large curtains were taken away for cleaning. Attention to detail was important. This included sourcing a smaller-sized stainless steel yacht basin to maximise space in the kitchenette.

“Revo very cleverly redesigned the kitchenette to transform a limited space and make it much easier for us to use,” said the client.

As well as using specially treated fibre-lined paper when redecorating walls to prevent cracks showing through, the extensive parquet flooring was carefully sanded, renovated and revarnished. Furniture was restored and re-upholstered.

Revo also ensured it met the strict security arrangements necessary to work in a sensitive Embassy environment, including identity checks for the small team of specialists on the project.

Highly refined approach transforms bar and restaurant refurbishments

Highly refined approach transforms bar and restaurant refurbishments

A dedication to quality and attention to detail ensures Revo bar and restaurant refurbishments match the exacting standards of its prestige clients to create perfect dining experiences.

Revo Group works in close partnership with owners of all sizes and styles of establishment, including Michelin-starred restaurants for Gary Rhodes and Michel Roux Jr.

“Demand from the industry for good value, high quality finishes has never been higher,” said Philip Basford, Managing Director of Revo. “Contractors must have the skill and experience to interpret clients’ visions to maximise their business’s potential.”

He added: “We deliver what clients want on many different levels: it has to be right for the bar manager, chef and waiters so they are each able to deliver their customer service to the highest levels. We combine practical considerations with design flair to complement the image and style that clients provide their guests.”

The design and refit of the reception, waiting area, corridors and large private dining rooms at Gary Rhodes’ restaurant, Rhodes Twenty Four, was designed to reflect the brand and restaurant. Ludovic Bargibant, General Manager of Rhodes Twenty Four, commented: “From our first meeting Revo understood the complexity of our project. Within the time restriction given, they came up with great designs which complement our restaurant very well.”

A hands-on project management approach by Revo minimises disruption in busy customer-facing environments – from initial design through installation and complete redecoration. For example, for Roux at Parliament Square, the unique, members club concept in a contemporary restaurant for Michel Roux Jr, Revo worked in partnership with Restaurant Associates to transform part of the Grade II listed headquarters of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors into “a relaxed and perfect gastronomic setting”.
